I have accumulated a few DVD's, since I started collecting them in the spring of 1998. You can see them one of several ways:
This new webapp is from PowerMovieList.com. I am impressed with this application. It uses PHP for the front end and MySQL on the back end. This webapp also pulls (fetches) information from the Internet Movie DataBase. I have added some graphics from other websites, if IMDB does not have the latest movie poster available. It appears to be easy to add new fields. This one is pretty neat. I signed up for the DVDFile.com forums. Pretty nice DVD discussion lists. These forums are run from dvdfile.com, which has alot of the latest news in the DVD industry. And I am also on the imdb.com forums from (of course,) IMDB.com. A new site I came across is Rare Licensed DVD's. Tagline: The Worlds Best Uncut & Rare DVDs, All At One Site. Well worth the look for that elusive DVD you have been searching for. For your favorite TV shows on DVD, go to TV Shows on DVD for the latest news and listings of TV shows on DVD. Some of my favorite DVD sites:Additionally, here are some other interesting sites:

Best Buy DVD Horror Story Back in June 2005, I purchased from Best Buy, Seasons 6 and 7 of Stargate SG1. In the beginning of August, I was finally watching Season 7 of Stargate SG1, when on disc 5, episode 18 would stop playing at 0:29:09. Nothing could make it play past that point. And episodes 21-22 would not play at all. I also tried it on my laptop computer, with the same results. I found my receipt from Best Buy, were I had spent close to $280 by buying 2 seasons of Stargate, and 2 full-size DVD shelves. I am one of those buyers, where I usually walk out of the store with over $150 in DVD movies. I called the Best Buy store in Arlington Heights, were I made the purchases and I was connected to a young man. When I described what was happening and when I mentioned that I had the receipt from June, he immediately told me that it was beyond their 30 day return policy and that I should try contacting the DVD manufacturer. I tried to explain that I had just gotten around to watching it (as I had also previously purchased seasons 3, 4, and 5 from that Best Buy.) And I had watched them in order. But he did not want to hear that. So I ended up telling him that I could take my business elsewhere and hung up the phone on him. I guess the near-minimum wage employees can affect business for a major chain like them. It's interesting, in that this is the second time a similar situation has occurred to me at Best Buy. I had a disc I purchased at the Best Buy in Sterling Heights, MI back in 2000. The movie was "Razor Blade Smile." This disc would not play on my main home theater system or my PC's DVD player. I took the disc back to the Best Buy and explained the disc situation. The "kid" behind the counter did not want to assist me as he was more involved with a PC at the time. I wanted to see if he could play the disc in one of their DVD players, to see if the issue was with my DVD players, or a bad disk. And he refused. So I was a little upset and I told him that I would take my business somewhere else, and I broke the DVD with my hands as I walked towards the front door. I threw the pieces in a trash can by the door, as I walked out. I later cancelled my Best Buy credit card and it was over a year before I walked into another Best Buy store and buy an item. Maybe someday, they will fix their policy or have good employees who will take care of their customers and not blow them off. Just my $0.02 on my situation. YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) Thanks for listening to me rant and rave. As a footnote, I contacted MGM on their website and sent them an email about the problems with my disc 5 of Stargate SG1 Season 7. I received a reply the next business day with instructions to send the disc to MGM with the description of the problem and my mailing address. I sent the disc back to MGM on August 15 and I received the replacement disc on August 22. And it works perfectly. I was able to finish episode 18 and watch episodes 21-22. Now I'm ready to Season 8, when it is released on October 4th. I will probably pick it up at Wal-Mart or Circuit City or Tower Records and Tapes or Borders or . . . I have the option of going to a few places where the prices may be lower or the selection is better.
